The Minority in Parliament have raised concerns with the spate of national security raids on the residences of former appointees of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia led administration with the raid on the residence of former governor of the central bank Dr. Ernest Addison.
Speaking with the media in parliament, the minority leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin alleged that National security operatives led by Richard Jakpa raided the home of the former governor and made away with some 10,000 cedis belonging to the governor and additionally also took some jewelries belonging to his wife.
The minority caucus are therefore calling on the president to put an end on this act of terrorizing former appointees.
The Effutu lawmaker and his caucuy further expressed outrage over the raid on Dr. Addison and his family, and are therefore demanding answers from the government regarding the incident.
The Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, on Wednesday visited Dr. Ernest Addison, the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), following a raid on his residence at Roman Ridge in Accra allegedly by operatives of the National Security.
The raid, which occurred on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, was conducted by armed men, some wearing balaclavas and wielding guns.
The operatives were reportedly led by a Director of Special Operations at the National Security Secretariat
