Queen Mothers Foundation Ghana Launches Initiative to Support High Schools

Nana Ama Seiwaa Bonsu, President of the Queen Mothers Foundation Ghana, emphasized the importance of giving back to institutions that have contributed to individual success.

The Queen Mothers Foundation Ghana has embarked on an ambitious mission to improve healthcare infrastructure in high schools across the country. As part of this initiative, Accra High School, located in the heart of Ghana’s capital, has received a newly constructed and fully furnished healthcare center.

The facility is a significant upgrade for the school, which serves over 2,400 students and previously relied on a makeshift healthcare center in a dilapidated state. Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Headmistress of Accra High School, Madame Evelyn Sagbil Nabia, expressed her gratitude, noting that the new center is a major relief for both students and staff.

The healthcare center is stocked with essential pharmaceuticals and medical supplies, including hand sanitizers, waterproof foam tapes, antibacterial wet wipes, athletic tapes, bandages, pain and itch relief creams, sanitary pads, and dental care items. Additionally, the foundation donated stationery, furniture, and student mattresses to further support the school community.

Nana Ama Seiwaa Bonsu, President of the Queen Mothers Foundation Ghana, emphasized the importance of giving back to institutions that have contributed to individual success. “I am where I am today because of the investments this school made in me,” she remarked. “It’s time for us, as the Queen Mothers Foundation Ghana, to give back to our schools.”

She described the initiative as the beginning of a nationwide effort to provide healthcare infrastructure for high schools across Ghana. “What you see here today is just the first step. We promise the good people of Ghana that we will continue this journey,” she pledged.

During the event, Nana Ama Seiwaa Bonsu also acknowledged the contribution of a Ghanaian-based friend who inspired the idea of constructing the healthcare center for Accra High School.

The Queen Mothers Foundation Ghana aims to extend its efforts to more high schools in the coming months, with the goal of ensuring that students nationwide have access to quality healthcare services and resources to support their education and well-being.
