RAINS, FLOODS & DAMS: Nigeria vs Ghana

The entire northern sector of Ghana was flooded because the dams government promised to build per village were meaningless and the Pualugu Dam which would have taken the bulk of the spilled water from the Bagri Dam in Burkina Faso was never completed.

Ghana’s capital is below sea level together with much of its coastline which is being threatened by sea erosion, high tidal waves and possible tsunami.

The filth, situation, poor drainage and unplanned housing compounds the looming disaster.

The flooding of settlements near the Weija Dam is symptomatic of poor communication, coordination and planning by government.

Similar flooding in the Ashanti and Eastern Region were largely the product of Galamsey activities diverting rivers and water bodies being aggravated by heavy rainfall.

The entire northern sector of Ghana was flooded because the dams government promised to build per village were meaningless and the Pualugu Dam which would have taken the bulk of the spilled water from the Bagri Dam in Burkina Faso was never completed.

Nigeria experienced a scaled up version of the Ghanaian experience.

In both countries the Government disaster preparedness was poor or non-existent, relief supplies never came and citizens left to their fate.

Unusually heavy rains flooded 27 out of 36 States in Nigeria.

Benue State which is the bread basket of Nigeria has been under flood water since September, as the Benue River overflowed its banks…

Tens of thousands of homes have been destroyed by flood waters displacing over 1.4million people in Nigeria.

Nigeria never finished the dam south of Cameroon which like the Pualugu multipurpose dam, would have contained much of the water spilled from the Cameroon Lagdo Dam.

River Niger also poses a problem as it meanders through 5 countries to Nigeria.

THESE FLOODS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH COVID-19 OR THE RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR.

In the mist of the excess water, unusual rainfall and floods; there is water shortage in Ghana…

FOOLS THIRST IN THE MIST ABANDANT WATER…

The Priority of Priorities of President Akufo-Addo is to build a Cathedral…

Ghana is unable to treat much of its water and that which it is sble to treat is at a very high price due to pollution due to Galamsey activities…

Ghana may soon be forced to import water because of Galamsey poisoning Ghanaian rivers and water bodies, yet President Akufo-Addo is still not serious about fighting Galamsey…

Many in his government, party and hometown have been directly linked to Galamsey yet in the face of hard evidence President Akufo-Addo has refused to have them arrested and prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others…

Ghanaians are resolved to be Citizens and not Spectators.

It is just a matter if time…

God Save Our Homeland Ghana and help us survive the WASTED YEARS OF THE AKUFO-ADDO-BAWUMIA GOVERNMENT and their DumbDogs who can’t speak truth to power because they are compromised or complicit or corrupt.

STAY TUNED.
