Hundreds of residents of Debibi a farming community in the Tain District of the Bono Region have rendered homeless following a rainstorm that hit the community last Monday.
Assemblyman for Debibi,Mr. Amoako Atta disclosed this in a telephone interview with Radio West Africa News Nana Anfreh Damanta.
87 houses have been affected by the rainstorm with the victims crying for help he said .
Mr. Amoako Atta narrated that both District Chief Executive and District Coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) at the Tain District Assembly have visited the scene.
The Debibi R/C KG and primary, Faith Preparatory Primary and Junior High and Debibi SDA primary “A” Schools had their roofs ripped off exposing books and other educational materials to the vagaries of the weather the Assemblyman noted.
Debibi SDA Church, CAPSTONE Church and the Chief palace of the late Chief of Debibi Nana Nangor also had their roofs ripped off Mr. Amoako Atta explained.
He therefore appealed to government, NGOs, and well meaning Ghanaians to come to their aid.
