Raja Casablanca head coach Rusmir Cviko blamed the poor condition of the Accra Sports Stadium pitch for his side’s inability to beat Samartex in their CAF Champions League second qualifying round first leg.
The Moroccan outfit battled to earn draw 2-2 in the Ghanaian capital and hold the aces to progress to the next stage.
In his post-match speech, the Bosnian trainer said: ”No, I’m not happy. I’m happy because we didn’t lose this game, but normally we must win this game.
“On this field where we played, it’s not possible to play, but how we played today I wanna say congratulations. It’s a big win for my team.”
It was Raja Casablanca who took the lead in the 20th minute when Mohamed Azrida headed in a corner kick.
The Ghanaian champions responded in the 37th minute with Francis Gyetuah scoring a stunning acrobatic goal to equalise.
Samartex took the lead when Michael Ephson connected home a rebound.
Raja tied the contest early in the second half through Mohamed Boulacsout, who finished off a brilliant team move.
