The 5th edition of the African Media Advertising Sales Summit (AFRIMASS) kicked off with enthusiasm on Wednesday, November 22, and concluded on November 23, 2023, at the Accra Digital Centre, Accra. The two-day event attracted media professionals and enthusiasts eager to delve into discussions on Media Advertising and Business Innovation.
Designed to equip participants with the latest industry trends, strategies, and tools for success in the dynamic media landscape, the program featured the 5th edition of CEO leadership perspective and lineup of influential speakers on its first day.
Colette Amaeshi, Managing Director of Pulse Ghana, emphasized the importance of understanding the audience and tailoring media environments to their preferences. Amaeshi advocated for interactive content creation, collaboration with influencers, and community building to enhance engagement and growth.
Yvonne Ocloo, the founder of TopDog Africa, delivered a compelling talk on leveraging experiential assets to drive media growth and create meaningful consumer experiences. She highlighted the impact of immersive and interactive campaigns in leaving a lasting impression on viewers, benefiting both brands and media companies.
Gad Ocran, another distinguished speaker, focused on the digital transformation of the media industry. Ocran stressed the need for media professionals to adapt to changing circumstances and effectively engage audiences through digital platforms.
The event also featured insights from industry leaders such as Mr. Bright Ladzekpo (CEO of PHD Media Ghana), Mr. Edward Aikins (Deloitte Ghana), and Professor Kobby Mensah (University of Ghana Business School).
On the summit’s final day, Mr. Eric Osei-Annor, Sales Consultant at Lurick Concept and Marketing Manager at MG Automobiles, discussed the art of digital sales. Osei-Annor emphasized the importance of empowering sales professionals with a digital mindset, highlighting the advantages of digital sales, including breaking geographical barriers, 24/7 accessibility, data-driven insights, and cost-efficiency.
Additional notable speakers included Jay Foley CEO of Trap, Kobby Nkrumah, Head of Digital at EIB Network, and Eli Daniel-Wilson, Director of Sales and Strategy at Pulse Ghana. They shared insights on business innovation, media advertising, and the imperative to embrace technology to stay relevant.
The summit also featured a panel discussion on revenue and innovation, moderated by Edward Owusu, Commercial Director of 3 MUSIC TV. Panelists included Anna Coleman (Sales Manager at Global Media Alliance), Malik Mustapha (Account Manager at Multimedia Group Ltd), and Shadrack Adjetey (Senior Account Manager at DSTV Media Sales Ghana).
Sir Raymond Smith, Founder & Managing Partner of AFRIMASS NETWORK, expressed his vision for the program, highlighting the importance of training and capacity-building to empower individuals in the media advertising industry.
