The Aflao Circuit Court on Thursday remanded into Police custody one Dominic Bimba, who was arrested for arms and ammunition trafficking.
The 39 year old Dominic Bimba was arrested on Wednesday for possessing firearms and ammunition without lawful authority, during snap-check activities along the Tokor-Accra Road by the patrol team of the Ghana Police Service
Chief Inspector Bob Wuda, who is prosecutor said, the suspect is a Togolese, who has been living in Ghana for about two years now. He was arrested with two foreign pistols and 61 rounds of ammunition: American made RUGER REVOLVER Pistol and New York made BB CAL Pistol whiles travelling to Accra on board a hiring car.
During the checks the Police retrieved 45 live and empty shells at the residence of the suspect, around Tokor.
The suspect pleaded before the court presided over by Judge Joseph Ofosu Behome that he was contracted to transport the weapons to someone unknown to him in Accra at a fee of GH¢800.00.
The suspect was therefore remanded into Police custody to reappear on Monday November
