Ghana’s 6th March Celebration: A Gloomy Remembrance Day for All Western Togolanders:

British Togolanders have never been Ghanaians and will never be. It is high time the UN corrected its juvenile errors. It turned 75 years last year. So it has been a senior citizen for some time now.

This is the year Western Togolanders will never forget in the life of their beloved nation as 6th March always remains a dark reminder for them. How can we ever forget “Operation Spanner”?…the combined colonial forces that massacred hundreds of our ancestors and drove many more into exile of which many have never been heard from to date. They resisted the broad day-light rape of Nkrumah and his colonial British bosses of their freedom and suffered such brutalities. The same treatments they are giving their generations today.

March 6 1957 was the day colonial Britain misled the juvenile UNITED NATIONS into believing she had fulfilled the mandate it gave her through Resolution 1044(XI) to establish a political UNION between the two sovereign nations, leading it to terminate its responsibilities to its Trust Territory….Togoland under British Administration….. thereby leaving it unprotected in the brutal  hands of the colonial Britain and Nkrumah. And they had done whatever they wanted with it to date.

British Togolanders have never been Ghanaians and will never be. It is high time the UN corrected its juvenile errors. It turned 75 years last year. So it has been a senior citizen for some time now.

Youths are bound to commit more mistakes than seniors. And the UN in its juvenile years did commit many, among which included the Western Togoland (formerly British Togoland) issue.

Currently that country, Ghana under its current leader Akufo-Addo, is still arbitrarily arresting, torturing and maiming Western Togolanders, keeping many in jail without trial or bail since 2020, for committing no crime but simply exercising their inalienable right to self-determination, a right protected under the UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS CHARTER, of which Ghana is a signatory. Ghana is also a signatory to the UN ANTI-TORTURE CONVENTION, but Ghana under Akufo-Addo is not respecting it, the same way he is not respecting his own country’s constitution.

We continue to remind the UN to rethink its mode of operation of waiting till blood spillage and lives and property destroyed before sending its peace keeping mission, which contracts enrich a few individuals within the UN. It is time for the UN to be pro-active.

THE CONSOLIDATION OF WESTERN TOGOLAND NATIONHOOD CONTINUES UNABATED
