The independent presidential candidate in this year’s general elections, Mr Kwame Asiedu Walker has promised to pay salaries of government workers every two weeks as opposed to the current situation where workers are paid monthly.
He said, the monthly salary system Ghana has practised since Independence is not helping workers in the country. He explained that the system renders many workers broke in the middle of each month; a situation which results in them borrowing monies to sustain them for the rest of the month.
Mr Asiedu Walker said, he believed his policy to pay salaries fortnightly would make life very comfortable for citizens of the country.
The independent presidential candidate made the disclosure in Techiman, on Friday, November 20, 2020 when he paid a courtesy call on the Techiman Traditional Council.
Mr Walker also promised to involve chiefs in the development of the country, if given the opportunity. He further disclosed that he will set up regional development planning committees which would have every Paramount Chief as a permanent member and on salary. He believe this would not only properly decentralize development but also enable traditional leaders to directly participate in the development planning of the country.
His running mate, Mr Jacob Osei Yeboah, who ran as independent candidate in the last two elections, also called on Ghanaians to give the opportunity to independent candidates to properly develop the country, since the NDC and NPP had all failed the country.
The spokesperson for the President of the Techiman Traditional Council, Omanhene Osei Ameyaw Ekumfi, expressed the councils excitement about the many brilliant policies of Mr Kwame Asiedu Walker and prayed for his success.

He also admonished politicians to be measured in their promises. He added that it would be better for a politician to make few promises and a chieve them than make so many promises that would not be attained at the end of the day.
Mr Kwame Asiedu Walker is currently making a one week tour of the Ashainti, Bono and Ahafo, as well as the Northern regions of the country.
