Sam George and Okudzeto Ablakwa Lead ‘Reset Walk’ in Ketu South

At the rally, Sam Nartey George, Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, emphasized the critical role of the "Kingmakers" of Ketu South in the December 2024 elections, urging the constituency to deliver 120,000 valid votes for Mahama.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region recently organized a large-scale health walk, aimed at energizing grassroots supporters and rallying floating voters behind John Mahama’s campaign for the December 7th general elections.

The event, which saw participants walk from Denu to Victoria Park in Aflao, culminated in a mini-rally. Addressing the crowd, NDC Constituency Chairman for Ketu South, Mr. Bright Solomon Kumordzi, urged constituents to vote for the return of John Mahama, describing him as the candidate to “rescue Ghana.” He also called on voters to re-elect incumbent MP Abla Dzifa Gomashie, emphasizing that she is the key conduit through which Mahama’s development agenda will reach Ketu South.

At the rally, Sam Nartey George, Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, emphasized the critical role of the “Kingmakers” of Ketu South in the December 2024 elections, urging the constituency to deliver 120,000 valid votes for Mahama. He encouraged a strong voter turnout, noting that their support would be instrumental in the NDC’s victory.

Sam George highlighted the country’s current economic hardships, noting the high cost of food and rising inflation, which he said were especially burdensome for women and mothers. He praised Mahama’s “Women’s Bank” initiative as a solution for supporting women and urged constituents to back the NDC for a government that would introduce these policies.

He also criticized the credibility of the NPP’s flagbearer and running mate, stating that they lacked the trustworthiness needed to lead Ghana. Sam George thanked the people of Ketu South and the Volta Region for their loyalty and sacrifices for the NDC.

Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, reminded the people of Ketu South of Mahama’s support during recent flooding and tidal waves that affected the municipality. He assured them that a future NDC government is committed to modernizing Ketu South. Ablakwa emphasized that change is imminent and promised that every Ghanaian vote would be protected in the December polls.

In response to recent remarks by NPP running mate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh criticizing Mahama’s proposed 24-hour economy, Ablakwa dismissed the comments as distasteful. He asserted that Mahama’s vision for a 24-hour economy is achievable and that Ghanaians will soon see its benefits.

Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the parliamentary candidate, stressed the importance of vigilance on election day. She urged constituents not only to vote for her and Mahama but to protect their votes, describing this election as an opportunity to “liberate Ghana from nation-wreckers.” Gomashie assured the people that Mahama has a comprehensive plan to address the needs of Ketu South in his next government.
