FC Samartex have arrived in Morocco for the crucial second leg of the second preliminary round in the CAF Champions League.
The club announced the team’s arrival on Thursday morning in a social media post after setting out on September 17 ahead of their game slated for Saturday, September 21.
The Timber Giants will lock horns with Raja Casablanca at Stade Mohamed V.
Casablanca held the 2023/2024 Ghana Premier League (GPL) Champions in stalemate as the game ended in a 2-2 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 14.
In the first round, Samartex won both legs against Victoria United. The upcoming game will be the decider.
Samartex’s young forward Emmanuel Mamah in an interview with the in-house media expressed optimism towards the game.
“We’re feeling very optimistic about the upcoming second leg of the fixture, despite still being considered the underdog. There’s absolutely no pressure on us, which allows us to play with a sense of freedom and confidence. Our main objective is to build on the strong performance we showcased last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.”
