Screen Actors’ Guild of Ghana holds training for old and new stars

Brainchild of Screen Actors’ Guild of Ghana, a wing of Ghana Actors’ Guild held a training session for Ghanaian actors.

Themed “Equipping the screen actor”, the training was done in collaboration with the Creative Arts Council, supported by Ghana Tourism Authority and under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture.

The training was organized to equip screen actors to improve upon their crafts.

Resource Persons were brilliant in executing their jobs:
1. George Bosompim handled “acting from a Director’s perspective”

  1. Contracts and Actor’s Rights by Dorothy Habadah, Senior State Attorney and works at the Copyright Office
  2. ‘An Actor Prepares’ handled by David Dontoh, a seasoned actor and Chairman for the NFA Governing Board

  3. ‘An Actor as a Brand’ was handled by Toni Simmons Henson, Producing Director from Atlanta Black Theatre Festival, USA

The first training held at the Accra Tourist Centre on January 10, recorded a massive turn out.

The second training will be held on the 16th of January 2020 at SNNIT Hall, Kumasi.

Among actors who attended the first training in Accra were, Fred Amugi, Martha Ankomah, Irene Opare, Ekow Smith Asante, Ken Fiati, Van Vicker, Fiifi Coleman, Socrates Safo, Samuel Fiscian, Richard Boateng and many up and coming actors.
