Ghanaian political commentator Okatakyie Afrifa has revealed the shocking reason behind his recent arrest by the Cyber Crime Unit of the Ghana Police Service.
Contrary to speculation that his arrest was politically motivated or influenced by someone in power, Afrifa claims it was orchestrated by his ex-girlfriend, Anne Sana Daly.
Speaking on his show, For The Records, Afrifa alleged that his former partner falsely accused him of sextortion, going as far as editing their past conversations to make it appear as though he had engaged in blackmail.
“I was told that Andeli reported me, claiming I had her private photos and was using them to blackmail her. I asked for proof, and in response, the police took me home, seized some of my belongings, and said they would investigate the matter.”
Afrifa, who dated the woman six years ago, refrained from sharing details about their past relationship but hinted that she may have a troubled history.
“I won’t go into how toxic she was, but I have intel that authorities have a dossier on her. She should be careful. She manipulated our messages to make it look like I was in possession of explicit content.”
The case is currently under investigation, and further details are expected to emerge.
