SHORTAGE OF PREMIX FUEL WILL PERSIST FOR A WHILE BUT…. DEPUTY MINISTER

Speaking to Kwabena Agyapong on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the deputy minister said the shortage is not an artificial shortage as some may claim.

He said the shortage is a nationwide problem and has been a challenge for almost a month.

He told the host the shortage would persist for a period, but authorities have received some amount of the fuel and will continue to distribute it to the fisherfolks.

He appealed to the fisherfolks to be patient as efforts are underway to resolve the situation so it does not affect their work.

Some fisherfolks in the coastal areas have raised concerns over the shortage.

The shortage of premix fuel in communities they say has resulted in untold economic hardship for them.

Fishermen are unable to go about their daily business activities due to the shortage of fuel.

But the minister says the situation is under control.
