Six Menzgold customers granted bail

The Madina District court presided over by Richard Delali Anku has granted bail to six customers of Menzgold who were part of ninety-two persons who besieged the residence of the company’s CEO Nana Appiah Mensah at Trassaco Valley in Accra.

The accused persons have been slapped with four counts of conspiracy to commit crime, unlawful entry, possible entry and offensive conduct to breach the peace. The accused persons pleaded not guilty to all four counts and were each granted bail in the sum of three thousand cedis with one surety.

Lawyer for the accused persons, Samuel Quaye pleaded with the court to grant them bail saying his clients are not criminals and also have no criminal records. He said the accused persons only went to the premises of Nam One to have a conference with him.

Last Wednesday, the accused persons allegedly stormed the premises of NAM ONE to demand payment of their locked-up funds. Sensing danger, the complainant asked his security to lock all gates to the house and also called the police for assistance. The case has been adjourned to the 11th of next month.
