Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, has been honoured with the African Public Sector Conference and Awards Humanitarian Lifetime Achievement Award.
The prestigious award is in recognition of his immense contribution to legislative and Leadership roles over the past years.
Conferring the award on the longest serving Legislator in Parliament who is also a former MP for Nadowli-Kaleo, the leader of the group said “from chairing key parliamentary committees to serving as as minister of health, water resources, works and housing, your journey has been marked by a strategic and unparalleled dedication”.
“Your leadership style exemplifies democratic principles”.
On his part Mr. Speaker expressed joy and gratitude adding that he is humbled that institutions observe and recognize his role in the public service over these years.
It would be recalled that speaker Bagbin was scheduled to receive the award in Botswana but due to urgent Parliamentary Business was unable to attend but the organizers decided to confer the award on him at his Office in Parliament.
