The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has stressed on the need for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to take a look at the sour image of Ghana’s top flight division, the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The sector minister believes that the integrity of the league doesn’t help its growth and pushes away potential investors who wish to invest in the GPL.
He was speaking at the 30th Ordinary Congress of the GFA held at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.
“Inasmuch as government is improving infrastructure, there is the need to look at the integrity of the league,” he said on Tuesday, August 27.
“Not only can infrastructure develop the league but also the integrity and development of grassroots football.”
The GFA congress was a two-day event that saw stakeholders in Ghana football gather to dialogue on issues ahead of the upcoming season.
