Star of the Sea Alumni Honors Teachers in 20th Anniversary Celebration

The school’s headmistress, Madam Theresa Vaa-Ib, lauded the alumni’s generosity.

As part of their 20th anniversary celebration, the Class of 2004 from Star of the Sea Catholic School honored former teachers who dedicated years of service to shaping the institution’s legacy.

The alumni group marked the occasion with a series of activities aimed at giving back to their alma mater. These included visits to retired teachers, where they presented cash gifts and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their invaluable contributions.

A key highlight of the celebration was a Thanksgiving Mass, during which two distinguished educators were specially recognized. Mrs. Alexina Djameh, the school’s first headmistress, and Mrs. Margaret Dankyi Boamah, a kindergarten teacher with nearly 30 years of service, received citations and cash gifts in appreciation of their remarkable impact on the school’s growth and history.

Stephen Somuah, President of the 2004 Year Group, underscored the importance of giving back to the school that played a pivotal role in their development. He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting the school through various initiatives, including donating stationery, organizing career guidance programs, and funding scholarships for underprivileged students.

The school’s headmistress, Madam Theresa Vaa-Ib, lauded the alumni’s generosity.

She remarked, “The generosity of the 2004 Year Group serves as an inspiration to all of us. Their contributions have enriched our school and reminded us of the strong sense of community that makes this institution special. We hope other year groups will follow their lead as we prepare for our 35th anniversary.”

The celebration culminated in a Thanksgiving Mass held at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Dansoman, Accra, marking a significant milestone for the alumni and deepening their bond with the school community.
