Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, Leader and Founder of Believers Worship Center, also known as Second Chance or Philadelphia of late has been at the receiving end of bashes from bloggers and fellow men-of-God, over what they describe as his controversial statements
Stephen Adom Kyei Duah on the other hand, has not relented on his oars as he battles with his critics, boot-for-boot.
Controversies
The Philadelphia man is reported to have stated that his picture will replace that of Jesus Christ for the next 500 years, and that he was going ahead to stage his own a film on Jesus Christ This is because the picture of Jesus Christ as used currently is not the true picture of him, but that of one of the actors who staged a film on Jesus Christ.
It is against this background that he is prepared to stage his version of a film on Jesus, thereby replacing that “fake picture” with his. It was also against this very background that some bloggers chose to call him “KYEISUS KRISTUS”
Adom Kyei Duah is also reported to have stated that Cain killed Abel because of a woman. He is also said to have declared that he has taken over Christianity, among other controversial statements
Voice of God, Cherished Giver
Stephen Adom Kyei Duah’s ardent and frenzied congregants simply refer to him as “Voice of God” He is also known for his occasional distribution of Cash, to his congregants. These donations, which run into several billions of cedis do not only touch the hearts of his frenzied Supporters/ congregants, but also drives them crazy about him. Subsequently, no amount of critism of him from any quarters means anything to them.
Spiritual Items
Adom-Kyei’s ardent Congregants also believe strongly in the Spiritual items such as “Yesu Mogya (Sobolo), powder, bandles etc. Sold by their leader As such his posters are seen openly and conspicuously displayed at the back Screens and sides of cars as well as doors, windows and inside of rooms, shops and offices of Congregants. To them Adom-Kyei is all in all.
25, 000 Capacity Church Auditorium
The Voice of God man is on record to have commissioned a 25, 000 Capacity Church auditorium at Katapo near Rokuase in the Greater Acres Region recently. To say that Sundays church activities bring about chocked traffic on that stretch of road, is an understatement. A situation that has called for complaints from residents in the area.
Complex Mansion
The Philadelphia Man is also credited with a multi-million dollar mansion for himself and his family, a situation that has called for massive critisms from his critics. But the question is, if the Philadelphia man, can distribute millions of dollar to his congregant occasionally, what prevents him from building a multi-million mansion for himself and his family? Doesn’t the Akan saying goes that” He who has chewed a calabash before finds it easiest chewing a crab? “So if he distribute millions of dollars to his followers should he confine himself to a wretched home”?
Soaring Popularity
In the face of all these critisms, Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah does not only seem unperturbed, but also undaunted in his bid to carry out his religious activities! As such, his popularity keeps soaring by the day with ever increment in membership of his Church.
Let Them Grow Till Harvest Time
The Good Book, has admonished that people should leave Weeds which found themselves growing alongside maize to grow till harvest time for, that is when they will be able to differentiate between weeds and the planted maize.
Adom Kyei-Duah from God?
Many of his critics opine that the Philadelphia man is not from God. I am of the opinion that, going by the parable of the Sower, where people are admonished to allow weeds grow alongside planted maize till harvest time, the Philadelphia’s Critics should allow him to do his own thing till Judgment day when God Himself will separate seeds from chaff! It is against this background that T pose the questions above.
