The office of the Tema Regional Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate (MTTD) Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Owusu Bempah, has been ransacked by suspected thieves.
The office which is located within the Tema Community 1 police station and was recently refurbished by the commander was broken into through the back window by the suspected thieves who took away 42-inch Nasco Television set, 32-inch Roch TV, a laptop, Go TV decoder and GHS 13.00.
The police commander and his men could not believe how thieves could enter the police station that has been walled, broke the windows and made away valuable items without being noticed.
Although, ACP Owusu Bempah has remained tight lipped on the issue publicly, confirmed the incident to ATV NEWS’ Danso Abiam in a telephone call interview.
“It is even shameful for us as police to comment on this incident, for a police officer’s office to be broken into by thieves, not even an ordinary office but the commander’s office”. ACP Owusu Bempah said.
According to him, the news was broken to him on Thursday February 6, 2020 around 7pm.
As whether some work related documents were taken, ACP Owusu Bempah refuted, adding that, cases and other vital documents are not kept hi his office.
“I don’t keep money in my office, even the money I don’t have some, it was only Gh¢13.00 change in my drawer, TV and decoder they took, I don’t even keep cases and other vital documents in my office”. He clarified.
The Tema Regional police has since begun investigations into the matter.
