Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP just launched their manifesto, proposing a flat tax system, complete digitalisation of land titling, and a restructured procurement system to cut corruption.
However, these policies raise concerns given the NPP’s track record. A flat tax system could disproportionately burden lower-income earners.
The digitalisation of land titling requires robust infrastructure and anti-corruption measures, which the NPP has struggled to implement effectively. Reforming the procurement system is crucial, but the NPP’s consistent denial of corruption allegations undermines their credibility.
The administration’s silence on issues like galamsey further questions their commitment to transparency and accountability. Without addressing these deep-seated issues, their promises risk being mere political rhetoric.
Ghanaians need leaders who can deliver on their promises with integrity and competence, not leaders who will just promise and later tell us they were mere mates and had no use for Mother Ghana.
Ghanaians must rise and demand better, and this is why we must move to the polls on the 7th December to prove to the NPP that we are not fools and they can’t continue regarding us as fools.
