Timber truck runs over taxi cab at Obuasi

A MAN diesel articulated truck with registration number GR 2714-X has crushed a taxi cab at Obuasi Amangoase in the Ashanti region.

The incident happened today, July 5, 2024.

The truck driver, Musah Fuseini, 32, was carrying logs from Fenaso heading towards Domeabra, both suburbs of Obuasi.

Upon reaching a section of the road at Amangoase, the truck driver lost control and rammed into a Toyota Corolla taxi cab with registration number GW 5088-11.

The taxi that had passengers on board was directly behind the truck.

The driver, Bernard Nsiah, managed to swerve, and fortunately, all passengers escaped unhurt.

However, parts of the car were mangled

According to eyewitnesses, Mr Abu, 47, and Aminu, 20, died on the spot after the motorbikes collided, with one burning beyond recognition.

Two others sustained severe injuries.

The unit committee chairman for the area, Moro Abdulai, confirmed the incident and said that the two motorbikes crashed into each other, causing one to catch fire.

The other victim, he noted, died shortly after sustaining severe burn injuries.
