Timothy Gobah Appointed Honorary Head of Protocols at Africa Development Council

Mr Gobah's appointment is valid for a two-year term and is not subject to retirement by rotation.

The Africa Development Council (ADC) has officially appointed Mr. Timothy Gobah, as the Honorary Head of the Protocols Department, effective immediately. The announcement was made by the Governing Board of ADC on February 17, 2025.

As the newly appointed Head of Protocols, Mr. Gobah will be responsible for overseeing ADC’s diplomatic missions, treaties, international strategy, sovereignty, security, membership, and public relations affairs. His role will be crucial in projecting ADC’s image on the international stage, fostering diplomatic relations, and enhancing the organization’s global visibility.

According to the appointment letter signed by Ing. Dr. Bright J. A. Y. Sogbey, President of ADC, Mr. Gobah will report directly to the President while leading the Protocols Department. His duties will include managing international trade and business negotiations, engaging with the United Nations (UN) and African Union (AU), and establishing partnerships with sub-regional blocs and affiliates such as the European Union (EU).

Additionally, he will be involved in grant proposals and sustainability ventures aimed at strengthening ADC’s financial and operational capacity.

The Executive Council Chairman, Dr. Prince Kofi Kludjeson, joined Dr. Sogbey in congratulating Mr. Gobah on his new role.

The Africa Development Council, headquartered at Academic City, Narman-Haatso, Accra, is dedicated to fostering sustainable development, international partnerships, and socio-economic advancements across the continent. With this appointment, ADC aims to strengthen its diplomatic presence and enhance international collaboration.

Timothy Gobah, a Journalist of international repute, is a Sub-Editor with the Daily Graphic newspaper.

Meanwhile, Executive Secretary of the ADC, Mr Ernest Epstein, has announced that the ADC led by its President, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Russian firm, Centre for Additional Professional Education (Alpha Dialogue), to promote Media – Academic Journalism, to ensure proper Academia – Industry Knowledge Flow, that can fuel the quest for rapid industrialization on the continent, Africa.
