Lawyer Akoto Ampaw is said to have entered the appearance at the Registry of the Supreme Court on the 31st of December, 2020.

In the case, President Akufo-Addo is the second Respondent while the Electoral Commission is the first Respondent.

The Petitioner is former President John Mahama who is asking for a run-off between himself and Akufo-Addo on account of the fact that the figures that the Electoral Commission used to back its declaration of Akufo-Addo as President-Elect rather indicates none of the two leading candidates of the 12 who contested, obtained 50% plus 1 vote as required by the Constitution.

Following the declaration, the EC had varied its own figures seven times.
