There are a few fundamental questions to ask every Ghanaian especially the media and the Pseudo Neutral CSOs;
- Do we want to hold to account anybody?
- Are some people untouchable and above the law or accountability?
- Do we want to retrieve all the Loot?
Those calling for a State of Emergency must know that under a State of Emergency, the enormous powers of the Executive is used to cure the targeted sins against the State for which the declaration is made.
Under a State of Emergency, many extrajudicial activities are permissible and the President may decree, the existence of Parliament and the Judiciary notwithstanding.
Ghanaians agree that the Galamsey menace and the Extreme Corruption and State Capture are enough grounds for the declaration of a State of Emergency.
Ghanaians agree that the establishment of Public Tribunals; which by the way are Constitutional, the creation of Specialised Fast Track Courts whose sittings will be telecast live for Ghanaians to watch, listen or participate in by attendance and contribute to, are an improvement of the raw declaration of a State of Emergency.
The combined efforts of all the Security Services under new leadership with a renewed mandate and marching orders from President John Dramani Mahama is poised to RESET THE FIGHT AGAINST GALAMSEY, CORRUPTION, LAND LOOTING, MONEY LAUNDERING AND PLUNDERING OF THE PUBLIC PURSE.
The is a section of the media ridiculing the creation of Specialised River Guards to ensure the Protection, Resuscitation, and Restoration of our Rivers and Water Bodies under the government’s BLUE WATER initiative just like the Forest Guards were established to Protect the Forest Reserves of Ghana.
The role of the media in this new fight must be constructive; Erastus Asare Donkor has set the standard for his colleagues and no patriotic journalist or media House should fall below the bar if this fight is to be won…
Some CSOs and Pseudo Neutrals are full of criticism and not encouraging President John Dramani Mahama’s RESET and bold efforts at comprehensively tackling the gargantuan problem of GALAMSEY, CORRUPTION, LAND LOOTING, MONEY LAUNDERING, AND PLUNDERING OF THE PUBLIC PURSE.
The process of repealing the obnoxious L.I.2462 is not an event, yet despite the hard work by the Attorney-General, the Minister of Lands, Forestry and Natural Resources, and the Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology together with the Parliamentary leadership in fast-tracking the laying by waiving the pre-laying; some CSOs and a section of the media are unappreciative of their efforts all done within very weeks of these Ministers assuming office.
The obnoxious L.I.2462 which was the brainchild of the Akufo Addo-Bawumia government, allowing mining in Forest Reserves, for which Martin Ayisi licensed many mining companies to degrade the Forest Reserves, Rivers and Water bodies is being excused by the same critical CSOs, journalists and media houses.
NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman Wontumi and his Akonta Galamsey Mining Company have surreptitiously been taken off radar despite being caught red-handed mining in the Forest Reserves and Water bodies by the Media….
The same media and CSOs have conveniently replaced Chairman Wontumi with an unnamed NDC Constituency Chairman who is accused of impeding the activities of the Galamsey Fact Finding Team because he was not informed.
The said NDC Constituency Chairman and anybody involved in Galamsey regardless of political affiliation must be named and taken through the process as stated by President John Dramani Mahama at the beginning of this new fight.
The commitment of Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin in fighting Galamsey within Parliament and his active support for the investigation and expulsion of any MPs found culpable is highly commendable.
The Aowin MP accused of involvement in Galamsey must in the above spirit be thoroughly investigated and IF FOUND GUILTY/COMPLICIT IN GALAMSEY ACTIVITIES, be expelled from Parliament together with other MPs accused of involvement in Galamsey, IF FOUND GUILTY/COMPLICIT IN GALAMSEY ACTIVITIES.
The Prof. Frimpong-Boateng Galamsey Report must be immediately investigated and culprits severely punished to serve as deterrent to others.
The assets and bank accounts of all involved in Galamsey must be immediately frozen pending the completion of the investigations which must include tracking of unexplained wealth and real estate transactions and potential money laundering practices under a State of Emergency.
Those who will claim witch-hunting should know that the FIRING SQUAD & DEATH PENALTY remain an option…
Galamsey is an existential threat to Ghana and all Ghanaians are at risk of being killed by the activities of Galamseyers, their accomplices, enablers and financiers who must be considered Mass Murderers and economic saboteurs whose actions are crippling the Cocoa sector and impacting the economy adversely.
The CSOs and media must support the GOLDBOD to clamp down on the export or sale of Galamsey Gold…
The CSOs and media must support the seizure of Excavators and destruction of Chamfang machines being used on the Rivers and Water Bodies…
The CSOs and media must support effort to provide alternative livelihood support to the youth and Leap to the vulnerable as well as the BIG PUSH & 24-HOUR ECONOMY and other progressive initiatives captured in the maiden budget of the John Dramani Mahama government which has also abolished the nuisance taxes affecting Ghanaians especially the rural vulnerable…
The CSOs and media must support the next phase of ORAL and the WAR ON GALAMSEY.
Together let’s support President John Dramani Mahama to RESET GHANA, win the war on Galamsey and Corruption, RECOVER ALL THE LOOT and prosecute all culprits regardless of political affiliation, stature in society and JAIL WHOEVER…
NOBODY SHOULD ATTEMPT TO SHIELD ANYBODY.
Even Former President Akufo Addo per the Constitution of Ghana can be arrested and prosecuted within three years of leaving office, so Ken Ofori-Atta and others must be guided.
Together we can and must RESET GHANA.
