Akufo-Addo after organising and participating in over 150 demonstrations now afraid of allowing demonstrations against his corruption, inept government which has visited untold hardships on Ghanaians, run the country into unsustainable debt and now running into the waiting arms of the IMF for a BAILOUT…
The Strikes and threats of more Strikes amid a State Capture, is eclipsed by the inevitable demonstrations about to hit the the country as all sectors demand survival payments dubbed Cost of Living allowances or COLA…
After blaming COVID-19 and the recent Russia-Ukraine War for its woes, the talkative Akufo-Addo government is trying to blame its bankruptcy on the 2-Day AriseGhana Demo.
The Akufo-Addo government’s attempt to brand AriseGhana as lawless and all demonstrations as acts of terrorism is under scrutiny…
The Ghana Police Service which was heavily engaged by the Leadership of AriseGhana has become a pliant tool in the hands of the desperate Akufo-Addo government.
Unfortunately for the Ghana Police Service, many Ghanaians have lost trust in them after several instances of LIES BY THE POLICE have been exposed…
After the 3-Kidnapped Takoradi Girls, Murder of the Asawase-7 and now the Nkoranza shooting murder…
The Council of Churches in Nkoranza and Family of the Nkoranza Murder Victim are calling for an Independent autopsy as they do not trust the Ghana Police…
The Ghana Police Service has issued a statement laced with threats and innuendo claiming to be “Public Education on Demonstrations” and AriseGhana an appropriate response.
Organised Labour, Teachers and Education Sector Workers, Health Sector Workers are poised to stage demonstrations in the coming days as their demands cannot be met by the Bankrupt Ghanaian Government.
The objective of the Ghana Police Service statement is to try scaring organisers and participants in demonstrations from exercising their Constitutional Rights.
The 2-Day AriseGhana Demo was in two parts, both were successful for the organisers and participants;
Day-2 of the AriseGhana Demo, which was supervised by the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, was very orderly, peaceful and successful as intended when the Organisers and Participants were allowed to demonstrate along their proposed route without Police interference…
Day-1 which was personally supervised by the IGP Dampare and the National Police Headquarters turned violent as agent-provocateurs were unleashed to disrupt the Demonstration.
This was after the Organisers refused to have their demonstration high jacked by the Police.
The organisers identified the person alleged to have thrown the first stone at the police; strangely the police refused to arrest him but rather called in reinforcement to aid the suspect to escape arrest.
Fortunately, most of the efforts by the organisers to have the suspect arrested and the refusal of the bizarre refusal of the police to arrest the suspect were recorded by several media houses present.
The Greater Accra Regional Police Commander and the Director of Operations at the Police Headquarters were given a picture of the suspect to aid their investigation and his arrest.
Interestingly, organisers made several attempts to reach out to the Police Leadership when the violence begun but were prevented by the police…
The reckless “Give a dog a bad name” attempt by the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah to tag AriseGhana Leadership with others as terrorists, on the wings of the deliberately orchestrated violence of Day-1 of the AriseGhana Demo, was deflated by the orderly, peaceful and successful Day-2 of the AriseGhana Demo.
Ghanaians have seen through the Akufo-Addo Government’s paranoia of demonstrations in the wake of the historic economic mess and corruption that most Ghanaians are blaming for their current predicament.
Ghanaians will not stop demanding for neither their due nor stop demanding for their rights which includes the right to Free Expression, Assembly and Demonstration.
AriseGhana has shown the way that demonstrations can be done peacefully and successfully while insisting on a lawful engagement with the Police.
Ghanaians have also demonstrated their resolve to be Citizens and not Spectators or Cowards.
The IGP Dampare, has also shown the way in the recent Islamic SHS Spontaneous Demo that saw Police brutality and abuse of Teargas;
That for Credible independent investigations to be conducted, interdiction are inevitable.
The IGP must in similar manner, step aside for Credible independent investigations to be conducted into the AriseGhana 2-Day Demonstration.
🎼 AriseGhana Youth for your country…
God Bless Our Homeland Ghana and help us RESIST OPPRESSOR’S RULE.
These we shall do using legal and Constitutional means.
AMEN.
