Traditional priestesses in the Tema Metropolis have stormed the streets to protest against the rumor that president John Dramani Mahama appointed Ebi Bright at the next Mayor of Tema.
In a video sighted by Newsdeskgh, the women were seen cladded in red cloths holding bottles believed to be schnapps as they protest against Ebi Bright’s appointment.
The women seen in the video protesting, they don’t want Ebi Bright as the Mayor of the city because of her non-indigenous background.
According to them, they are advocating for the appointment of an indigene someone born and raised in Tema, who shares a strong connection with the local community as the next mayor.
Ebi Bright was the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Tema Central Constituency in the 2024 elections.
