Two police officers have allegedly attacked a Burkinabe at gunpoint at Abeka Lapaz, a suburb of Accra.
The victim was on his way to Classic Guest House at Lapaz where he has been lodging since he came to Ghana to transact a business deal with one Alhaji.
The suspect was said to have been on his way back to the guest house when a branded Ghana Police Service vehicle, with registration number GP 3513 carrying the said Alhaji whom he had transacted business with crossed him, the Tesano Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Oduro Amaning, revealed this to GhanaNewsOnline.com.gh in an interview.

He said the policemen collected the money at gunpoint from the Burkinabes who was identified as Sulenan Sodre, and bolted.
A report was made to the Tesano Police, after which the Divisional Command took over investigation of the case.
ACP Mr Oduro Amaning said, subsequently, the Accra Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Mr Afful Boakye-Yiadom, ordered the immediate arrest of the driver of the vehicle.
He explained that every vehicle belonging to the service was assigned to a unit, and that the unit to which the said vehicle was assigned had been identified, with the help of the registration number, but the policemen in question were yet to be identified.
ACP Mr Oduro Amaning, said the arrest of the driver would facilitate investigations and ascertain the truth or otherwise of the matter.
Our sources within the police service indicate that the said police vehicle that was used belongs to the Police Intelligence and Professional Standard (PIPS).
