Senior lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, Dr. Patience Aseweh Abor has been honored for her contribution to rural development in Ghana through her ExGlo Foundation.
Dr. Abor was recognized by the Chiefs and people of Kasena Nankana at the 2019 edition of the Navrongo Town Awards held in the Upper East Region.
According to the traditional rulers, ExGlo Foundation, which was founded by the UGBS lecturer, has supported people, especially children and women in the savanna regions of the country and the award was their little token of appreciation to the foundation and its workers as well as volunteers.
They urged her to continue the good work and encouraged more people, especially those from the Northern part pf the country, to emulate Dr. Abor’s example and support their communities.
Receiving the award, the lecturer cum gospel musician, expressed gratitude to the people for recognizing her efforts and praised them for their hard work, fortitude and positive spirit.
Dr. Abor added that she and the ExGlo Foundation are determined to help improve the livelihood of the people, especially in the areas of education and healthcare and would do all it can, through the generous support of her donors and volunteers who continue to offer help in their own small way.
The ExGlo Foundation has over the years undertaken projects aimed at enhancing the welfare of deprived communities in Ghana through quality education, healthcare, and livelihood support.
Past projects of the organization include mentorship and training on good grooming at OLL Senior High school in Navrongo and Nyariga Doone Girls School in Bolgatanga, donation of a shea butter making machine to help members of the Bongo Women’s Association improve their income generation, which will subsequently help them take care of their children in school among other interventions.
The Foundation has also donated Exercise and textbooks books to Tishugu Anglican Cluster of Schools in Tamale in Northern region, Piina Senior High, Kaleo Tech Senior High , Daffiamah Senior High and Ullo Senior High Schools in the Upper West region.
Several dignitaries, including the Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central and Aviation Minister, Joseph Kofi Adda, Upper East Regional Minister, Paulina Patience Abayage, the MCE and the Paramount Chief of the Navrongo Traditional Area, P3 Denis Aniakwo Balinia Adda Asagpaare ll, supported and were part of the Navrongo Town Awards.
