V/R: North Dayi PWDs urged to embrace government efforts in livelihood provision

The items include home ovens, fufu pounding machines, fast-moving consumer goods, industrial sewing machines, farm inputs, movable cassava mills and cash.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the North Dayi District, Kudjoh Attah, has called on Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in his district to embrace government efforts in decent livelihood through the provision of tools and equipment to enable them to be financially independent and self-sustenance.

Hon. Kudjoh Atta, who doubles as the Parliamentary Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the North Dayi Constituency made the call when he presented some items to 35 beneficiaries persons with disability at Anfoega Akukome last Friday.

The items include home ovens, fufu pounding machines, fast-moving consumer goods, industrial sewing machines, farm inputs, movable cassava mills and cash.

 

He stated that the gesture forms part of the government’s commitment to supporting persons with disabilities with decent livelihoods.

He further urged beneficiaries to make good use of the support given to them and indicated that social welfare officers would visit them to monitor their activities.

The Parliamentary Candidate called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the items and that the Assembly would only be able to support more beneficiaries if they utilized what they received well.

 

He admonished them to desist from selling the items distributed to them and assured them of his continuous advocacy and support by ensuring that the poor and vulnerable in society especially the PWDs enjoy a dignified life.
