Vivo Energy support Ashanti REGSEC with 500ltrs of fuel to fight crime

Vivo Energy, the pan-African retailer, and marketer of Shell and Engen-branded fuels and lubricants has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC), as it enhances the Council’s crime-fighting efforts with 500 liters of fuel.

The presentation was made at a brief ceremony held at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) on Wednesday (August 31).

A Communication Specialist, Shirley Tony Kum, who made the presentation on behalf of Vivo Energy said the gesture was part of its contribution to deal with the region in recent times.

“We are supporting this because we believe proper and enhanced security remains key in every development and that we are committed to supporting any action that will improve the security of the environment through which our business also thrives,” said Shirley as she commended the REGSEC for the successes chalked in the area of security.

She said the company will continue to offer its support to the Coordinating Council and ensure that the two work together for the good of the region.

The Ashanti Regional Minister and Chairman of the Regional Security Council, Simon Osei-Mensah, was full of appreciation to Shell Ghana describing the gesture as timely.

According to him, the donation has come at a time the Security Council is gearing up to redouble its security efforts in the region.

Present at the short ceremony were members of the Council, Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi Samuel Pyne, Asokore Mampong Municipal Chief Executive Kennedy Kankam, among others.
