Volta regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mawutor Agbavitor, has sent his good will message to Ghanaians and NDC party faithfuls ahead of the festive season (yuletide).
The message contained in a communiqué issued in Ho on Thursday December 22, and copied to the media reads in part:
“We are in the festive season and it is only appropriate to wish our teaming faithfuls good wishes and the best for the coming year, but we can’t limit it to our members only – Ghanaians must also share with us the good news of the season”.
The message continued “On this note I extend the felicitations and goodwill of the occasion to fellow Ghanaians and all people of other nationalities in our dear country, because what happens in Ghana affects all of us”.
Agbavitor said since his experience as a Ghanaian for his age, he had never witnessed despondency and sorrow at the magnitude of the current level in the country at this period of the year.
“It’s all joy and happiness occasioned by the seasonal love that goes on during the Christmas period”.
“But what do we see now? – melancholy and hopelessness. Ghanaians are going through hard times never experienced before – yet those that were entrusted with the responsibilities of managing the affairs of our dear country are over the place to mock our situation with praises of unprecedented achievement!” He lamented.
Agbavitor is however hopeful that come the year 2024 and in the elections in December, John Dramani Mahama will emerge victorious and “break the shackles of bad governance and management which has been made manifest in the chaotic economy being left behind by Akufo-Addo and Mahamudu Bawumia as legacy “.
Sounding prophetic, the NDC regional chairman wished all a Merry Christmas and prosperous Happy New year in advance saying “I bring to all good tidings as espoused in the Holy book that “the deliverance of Ghanaians is near”.
