Wanderlust Ghana has hit the road once again in the quest to cover 30,000 Kilometres from Accra in Ghana to Cape Town in South Africa by land.
The journey began on September 15 despite being widely propagated to start on September 30 by tourism enthusiasts.
In a post, the CEO of Wanderlust Ghana, Kwabena Peprah, explained, “The announced departure date was September 30th but certain considerations made us depart on Sunday, September 15.”
On the first day, they set out at exactly 3:40 am at The Blay at Pantang, covering more than 17 hours which ended at Yamoussoukro in Ivory Coast.
As of July 24 morning when they fed their followers with an update, the group said almost 6,000km had been covered.
The group of 12 are using a fleet of vehicles including a Lexus RX, a Toyota Tacoma, three Land Cruisers and a Ford.
This is their second major road trip across three continents to Cape Town, South Africa, which they will complete in three months.
London Trip
The group rose to prominence and gained the limelight when it embarked on a remarkable journey from Accra to London, covering 10,000 kilometres by land to raise awareness about the digital literacy gap in Ghana and Africa and raise about $17,000 in support of that.
They started the expedition of driving from one continent to the other from Accra on Sunday, July 23, 2023, and ended their journey in London by Sunday, August 6.
