The President of FC Barcelona President, Joan Laporta i Estruch, has revealed that, management and the teams Board of Directors places a high priority on La Masia de Can Planes, the club’s renowned youth academy.

Laporta emphasized that developing homegrown players remains a top priority for the club, aligning with Barcelona’s long-standing philosophy of building a strong team from within. La Masia has been instrumental in shaping the careers of football legends like Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez, and Andrés Iniesta, contributing significantly to the club’s success over the years.

However, Joan Laporta says although the team is in the transfer market with the aim of signing some players, they are committed to their philosophy of developing young talents.

“Of course we go to the market to sign a player if we need him, but our philosophy is to discover and develop young talents.” Joan Laporta indicated.

Laporta explained that, investing in youth development not only preserves the club’s unique playing style but also ensures a sustainable future by consistently producing top-tier players who embody the values and spirit of FC Barcelona.
