We have captured most of your Recommendations in our 2024 Manifesto – NDC to GhNCDA

Dr. Thomas Anaba, a member of the Committee, commended the Alliance’s efforts and assured that many of the recommendations are already captured in the yet-to-be-launched NDC Manifesto.

The Health Manifesto Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has applauded the Ghana Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance (GhNCDA)  for its comprehensive recommendations aimed at enhancing the party’s health policies.

During a brief meeting at the NDC Headquarters in Adabraka, Accra, the National Coordinator of the Alliance, Labram M. Musah, highlighted the need for continued support for people living with NCDs.

He acknowledged the efforts of successive governments but emphasized that more work is needed to improve the lives of these individuals.

The Ghana NCD Alliance has compiled an NCD Manifesto, which includes key recommendations such as uncapping the National Health Insurance Levy and allocating a portion of the Excise tax to support the health sector.

Musah expressed hope that these recommendations would be incorporated into the party’s manifesto, enhancing the Universal Health Coverage agenda and improving conditions for the vulnerable.

“We believe you will consider these recommendations and make them part of your health policies should you win power,” he added.

Dr. Thomas Anaba, a member of the Committee, commended the Alliance’s efforts and assured that many of the recommendations are already captured in the yet-to-be-launched NDC Manifesto. He referenced the party’s flagbearer, John Mahama, who has pledged to uncap the NHIS if elected president.

Dr. Anaba also noted that the NDC manifesto outlines various policies to support people living with NCDs.

The meeting was attended by some members of the alliance including Revenue Mobilization Ghana, Media Alliance in Tobacco Control and Health (MATCOH), and People Living with NCDs, among others.
