The Police have denied reports in a section of the media that the man who was seen abusing a toddler in a viral video has been arrested.
They Police said they are still following a number of leads as part of the ongoing investigation to track down the individual involved in the child abuse video which has gone viral on social media.
“No confirmed arrest has yet been made in connection with the case. Our intelligence teams and experts from the Police Cyber Crime Unit are working around the clock to resolve the case.
“We are also counting on the public for further information that could help the search and rescue of the child and the arrest of the perpetrator.
“We therefore urge anyone with credible information on the development should contact the Police on 0243809991,” a statement said.
The Police earlier assured that they were tracking the man.
An unidentified man is seen lashing an infant with a stick.
“Efforts are underway to track down the individual involved, have him arrested and rescue the child.
“In view of the urgency associated with the matter, a reward of GHC2000 has been set aside for anyone who is able to provide credible information that could lead to the arrest of the individual and rescue the child,” the statement said.
