Hundreds of supporters and sympathizers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western North Region thronged Sefwi Asawinso last Tuesday to mourn a popular Tiktoker who was campaigning for the NPP on social media before her demise.
Ms. Amanda Mantey’s life was cut short last Tuesday in Sefwi Asawinso. She died after being hospitalized at Sefwi Asafo Hospital, where she sought treatment for severe headaches.
Western North Regional NPP Youth Organizer, Gabriel Doh, noted that party members gathered in large numbers at Asawinso to pay tribute to Amanda, recognizing her invaluable contributions to the party.
He said, “Before her passing, Amanda was an active TikTok creator, frequently posting videos in support of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP’s Sefwi Wiawso Parliamentary Candidate. Her content, set to popular NPP songs, garnered significant attention and views on the platform.”
He revealed that Amanda was also a leading member of ‘Buma Ladies’, a female group that is campaigning for the NPP candidate for Sefwi Wiawso, Festus Bumangama.
The Western North NPP was deeply shaken by the sudden passing of Amanda, a vibrant and dedicated member who tirelessly promoted the party’s flagbearer and regional candidates.
“Her contributions were so valued that party members felt compelled to honour her memory with their presence and resources, demonstrating their conviction that the NPP’s cause is worth fighting for,” he said.
According to Gabriel Doh, Western North Regional NPP Youth Organizer, Amanda’s efforts will not be in vain. He expressed optimism that the NPP will emerge victorious in the upcoming general election, particularly in Sefwi Wiawso, thereby validating Amanda’s campaign efforts.
Notably, despite the NPP fraternity leading the funeral arrangements, some NDC activists attended to pay their respects to Amanda’s family, showcasing a sense of unity and shared humanity in the face of loss.
