Your Excellency,
We wish to draw your attention to the following,
That, partitioning Togoland into East and west by the allied forces of Britain and France was the first injustice done to both sides.
Absorbing Western Togoland against the will and the decision of the United Nations by Ghana was another injustice caused to that part of the land.
Extermination and forceful detention of Western Togolanders by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah through I.k Acheampong against Western Togolanders who rose up for the homeland restoration was an injustice as well. The list goes on and on but the pain and untold hardship its has brought on the land lies deep in the hearts of the inhabitants. Injustice breed dissatisfaction and nothing can serve as a true reparation except when justice is serve.
Your Excellency,
Prior to the 2016 general election, you were sold to the world as one of the best human rights lawyers, yet we are disappointed that under your watch that Human Right case of this nature resurface and you have surprisingly chosen the course of deepening injustice by arresting, imprisonment and prosecuting nonviolent citizens of the Western Togoland, who are peacefully asking for the restoration of the territorial integrity.
By the above action, you have tone the path of your predecessors and of endorsing injustice. To this end, we will like to remind you what one of American liberator’s says, “If injustice become law, resistance become a duty.”
If the neglect, abuse and the aggression against Western Togolanders means nothing to you, their precious time and life should not be toil with.
Western Togoland have not been conquers in war, neither do they voted to be slaves in Ghana for you to subject them into all kind of inhuman treatment. If the arrest continue, we shall be heading towards Israel and Palestinian problem.
Mr K.k Avu
