The Ghana Police Service has discredited media reports that broadcast journalist Serwaa Amihere has been arrested.
A picture of the journalist in handcuffs and being escorted by two police officers is being circulated on social media with commentary that she is in police custody.
However, in a press statement, the police described it as “misinformation and disinformation”.
The police noted that the said picture in circulation emanates from a music video she shot.
“The Ghana Police Service has not arrested Serwaa Amihere. Our investigation indicates that the picture circulating online is from a music video.”
It, therefore, urged the public to disregard the news.
