Why Akufo-Addo must move Ghana forward and not backwards – Dr. Bokor

Folks, I have updated my Facebook page, using what is relevant for now and will be forever!!

You want to know why? I am a pure NDC die-hard and will die as such. Mind you, though, that I don’t hold an NDC card because I haven’t registered myself as such. But deep down, I know who I am and what I am politically.

I don’t seek any appointment or favor from any NDC well-being and will not bow to anybody fooling around. I am that I am as made by my God to be an NDC die-hard; and so be it. If there is any way I can do otherwise, let somebody tell me.

First, whom you see me hugging is my “replica” in this picture, What can I do without this replica? He is 16 years old now and stepping into my shoes, even though he is an “American”, whatever it means. Lovely!!

But there are other aspects. I ring up now the main gate and the most influential person in my life (John Dramani Mahama, the “Lion of Gonja”) as my IDOL. He and I are almost age mates, but he has exceeded in the way that God has chosen for him. Who can fight God in his own ways of dealing with humanity?

Just a quick footnote. I am from a very, really poor family that had no knowledge of or access to formal education and the benefits thereof; but the good Lord has given us what He has for us. My parents began poor and died poor but life has its own ways of redeeming its creatures. Thanks be to God.

Back to my focus on the “Lion of Gonja”. He and I chatted sometime in 2013 when he was scheduled to attend the United Nations Conference and his appointees alerted me to do all they could to connect us but nothing happened. I laughed it off. Such is life; not so?

Can you imagine that I haven’t ever physically interacted with Mahama but that I have all along supported him? He is God-given!!

I can recall many moments of my physical and intellectual interactions with many people, including:

i. The late Asantehene preceding this current one. My experiences are still rich and will be kept secret because of assignments that I did for Asanteman in Obuasi and its numerous constituents; Adansi Fomena and beyond; Ahodwo in Kumasi and beyond; Asante New Town and beyond; Asawase and beyond; Akrokerri and beyond;

ii. Central Region: Cape Coast, Elmina, Assin Fosu and beyond; Dunkwa-on-Offin and beyond; Twifo-Praso and beyond;

Iii. Ashanti Region again: Tepa, Jamasi, and Mampong Asante and beyond; Ejisu Kumasi (every environ and many more). I wish the late Okumkom Akwasi Agyemang could be revived to vouch for me.

We did our best in the circumstance and moved on. Chieftaincy problems and political issues? Too much “wahala” in this part of the country!!

I am even not talking about what I did in the Akim area, moving all over the place to see happenings and reporting them. (The Okumaning oil palm industry?) Let somebody wake up Isaac Adjei-Marfo (the PNDC Secretary for Agriculture at the time and the direct brother of this super-ugly basket-mouth Yaw Osafo-Marfo). I hate nobody. My mouth no be gun!!

To be disrespectful, let me bring in again this ugly Yaw Osafo-Marfo, who is the strongest pillar behind Akufo-Addo’s nonsense. He is fooling around, setting Ghana on a terrible warpath. The dangerous ethnocentric comments from him before Akufo-Addo got to office are still known.

When I was a journalist at the Ghana News Agency in the late 1980’s, I covered him as the MD for the defunct Bank for Housing and Construction. I followed up with many other instances until Kufuor ditched him.

How come that the 100,000 Dollars that he gave the non-existent Chinese hair-dressing salon hasn’t been investigated for him to be punished? And why is it that the one million Dollars that he got from Kroll as captured by the Auditor-General has been swept under the carpet?

Folks, there is a lot more to say; but I am too angry to continue. Not in that mood for other issues, though. Anybody needing more information should contact me via my e-mail address (mjbokor@yahoo.com) so we can move on. Ghana is bleeding!!

Let me boil everything down to say that what Akufo-Addo has introduced into Ghanaian politics is the right recipe for the disaster that has destroyed countries in our part of the world. Is that what we should be looking for?

What is political power good for if it doesn’t solve the problems that made the poor voters endure hardships and the vagaries of the weather to line up and put people in power?

In this coronavirus situation, anybody lining up to do Akufo-Addo’s bidding is fit for an unmarked grave!

Folks, some us are really good at keeping secrets, but when push comes to shove, we will talk and move on to deal with those who are Ghana’s problems. Can Ghana not live without Akufo-Addo and his “family-and-friends cabal”?

Privileged? My foot!!

What did this Akufo-Addo use the “privileges” for when his father pushed him on? He foiled at the University of Ghana and failed at the law institution that he was sent to on “protocol” in Britain. He ran away to do some fuzzy administrative work at Coubert and Freires in Paris (France) that had nothing to do with his so-called training in law in Britain.

Folks, we will continue to pursue this trajectory of Akufo-Addo’s trickerism that has now infected and infested Ghanaian politics. Nothing Akufo-Addo touches has turned into gold. Once a thief of status, always a thief!!

On the other hand, John Mahama and others spending their God-given benefits-of-mind and earnings on the poor Ghanaians being punished by Akufo-Addo continue to have poor and punishing press coverage because of the nonsense that Akufo-Addo has put in place. To hell with them.

He is the icon for me to be with and to use as the inspiration for all that I look forward to. How many of us at his age could have become the President of Ghana through the legitimate constitutional means? None!!

He made it and must be so acknowledged and respected. And he will bounce back, God willing.

A good thing sells itself. And that is what reflects the calibre of genuineness, honesty, and truth that John Dramani Mahama is.

Have Ghanaians quantified how much he has spent out of his personal covers to solve pertinent problems facing them while Akufo-Addo has promised his future salary to deal with the pressing problem?

No wonder that in the Second Republic, Busia and the despicable J.H. Mensah paid the appointees of that horrible government two months salaries in advance.

Ghana must move forward, not be sent backward(s) by this useless Akufo-Addo. In his portage, he is more focused on his end that anything else. May God see him off.
