Why is Nana Akufo-Addo mute during this period of injustice? - NDC Deputy Communication Officer for North Tongu asks

The conduct of Nana Addo/Bawumia Government, the Courts and the Electoral Commission, in the matter of the plight of Citizens in the ongoing limited Voter registration exercise is very regrettable taking North Tongu, in the Volta Region in to account.

The same Court that had the competence and was ready to meet on daily basis in the case of the Assin North – NDC Member of Parliament can no longer act timely in the case brought before it by the five (5) political parties (NDC, CPP, APC, LPG and GCPP) against the Electoral Commission.

How do you set a date for the EC injunction after the exercise? This obviously feeds into the perception of judicial manipulation by Nana Akufo-Addo/Bawumia led government.

In the face of extreme economic hardship with IMF conditionalities and unemployment, how do you expect an 18year old to fund his/her transportation and that of two additional guarantors from Ayiwata, Deve, Podoe, Alabonu, Torgome, Horkpo, Woekpoe, Zomayi, Fodzoku, Volo, Dorfor – Kome/Adidome, Juapong etc to travel long distances to the District office of the electoral commission to get a Voter’s ID card at Battor the district capital?

Reports of the Electoral Commission’s inaudibility to register some citizens who managed to go through these struggles to reach their offices is evidence of the held view by citizens that, the electoral commission is on a deliberate mission to punish and frustrate first time voters.

The foremost man, Nana Akufo-Addo, expected to speak for, defend the vulnerable and all citizens as the 1992 constitution demands of him in the phase of attempts to deliberately disenfranchise some citizens remains very silent on the matter.

ARTICLE 57. (1) There shall be a President of the Republic of Ghana who shall be the Head of State and Head of Government and the Commander-in Chief of the Armed Forces of Ghana.

Why is Nana Akufo-Addo mute during this period of injustice?

Ghanaians are not weak people, when they are taken for granted for far too long, they will push back at a point, and nothing can stop the power of the people when they decide to act!

The most dangerous thing to do is not to register to vote out this incompetent, vindictive Nana Akufo-Addo/Bawumia Government.

I am using this opportunity to encourage every Ghanaian citizen to do everything humanly possible to secure their voter ID card as that’s the power you have to change this incompetent, bankrupt, vindictive government of misery and extreme economic hardship comes December, 2024.
