A Member of Parliament for Prampram, Sam Natey George, has questioned the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on why the exchange rate is dancing Azonto and Skelewu.
According to him, for the dollar to be changed at 13.2 against the cedi is not acceptable.
To him, the Vice President will be judged by his comments while he was in opposition.
“When Dr. Bawumia was in opposition, he said that if the fundamentals are weak, the exchange rate will expose you. When John Mahama was president, the dollar was at Gh4.50. Now, when you import your goods, the dollar changes to GHC 13.2.
The Vice President when he took over power, said he had arrested the dollar and given the key to the IGP. Today, the dollar has broken jail and is dancing azonto and skelewu,” he said.
Sam George was speaking to Abose Okai Spare Parts dealers when he questioned the Vice President.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is looking to take over the administration of the country.
