A Youth Group calling itself Progressive Citizens of Akatsi-North has expressed optimism about the Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia winning the up-coming December 7 general elections.
According to them, Dr, Bawumia stands tall amongst all the 13 flagbearers of various political parties contesting to be elected as the next president for Ghana.
They indicated that having listened and studied policies and campaign messages leaders of the opposition parties make, Dr. Bawumia is a better option hence their support for him.
These were contained in a statement read at a press briefing held at Mitsiri Kasa in Akatsi-North of the Volta Region to announce their unflinching support for the flagbearer and the NPP in the upcoming December 7 polls.
The Youth Group who described themselves as an independent group made up of energetic boys and girls announced that they are not an appendage of any political party, but their desire is for the future and accelerated development of Akatsi-North and Ghana at large.
The leader and spokesperson for the youth group, Kedzi Daniel Kwaku, emphasized that juxtaposing all the opposition parties and their leaders who are contesting the up-coming general elections and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) side-by-side, the Vice President and the NPP consistently exhibited progress, innovation and stability coupled with Dr. Bawumia himself being a leader who is resilient with achievable solutions to the country’s developmental challenges.
Daniel Kwaku said they hold Dr Bawumia in high regard due to his transformative digital initiative that has significantly improved the lives of Ghanaians.
“…for instance, under the able leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia, the Akatsi-North Constituency has received its fair share of the national cake in the area of development,” he stressed.
In view of this, the spokesperson announced that they have resolved to campaign vigorously by moving from house-to-house in the constituency to preach the good works of Dr. Bawumia to ensure victory in the upcoming general elections.
The youth leader said Dr. Bawumia is not only young with rich developmental ideas, but is loving and caring as he promises to modernize the country’s tax collection system with the digitalization in place.
The leader of Mitsiri-Kasa Young Ladies Union, Faustina Awukutse said all the young ladies have pledged to vote for Dr. Bawumia to help transform their lives as young and energetic women.
A member of the Youth Group and Secretary to the Mitsiri-Kasa Young Ladies Union, Celestine Amegah said campaign has started in earnest by their members in the constituency and the response is positive.
