Her name is Chinyere Yvonne Okoro popularly known as Yvonne Okoro, a popular Ghanaian actress, humanitarian and entrepreneur.
Yvonne Okoro was born on November 25, 1984 in Tamale, Ghana, West Africa. She’ll be 40 years old this year. She’s the first child of her mother. Her father is an Igbo man from Nigeria and her mother, a Ghanaian.
Yvonne Okoro attended Achimota Preparatory School after which she went to the Lincoln Community School and then to Faith Montessori School. She continued at Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School after which she enrolled at University of Ghana, Legon where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Arts, combining English and Linguistics. Afterwards, she went to the Universite de Nantes in France and studied Press Civilization, Drama and Marketing.
Yvonne Okoro started her acting career professionally in 2002 and acted in her debut film titled “Sticking to the Promise”, produced by a Nigerian producer, Theo Akatugba, just after her Senior High Education.
Still in 2002, she played a cameo role in the hit series Tentacles by Theo Akatugba for Point Blank Media Concepts.
In 2008, Yvonne Okoro was featured in the film “Agony of Christ”, directed by Frank Rajah Arase and starring alongside Majid Michel, Nadia Buari, Kofi Arjorlolo, Prince David Ossei, amongst others.
From 2011 to 2012 she played the character of Baaba Adams Smith in the Ghanaian film series “Adams Apples”, starring alongside John Dumelo, Joselyn Dumas, Roselyn Ngissah, Fred Kanebi, to mention a few.
In 2016, she played the lead character of Rebecca in the Ghanaian-Nigerian movie “Rebecca”, directed by Shirley Frimpong-Manso and starring Joseph Benjamin.
In 2019, Yvonne Okoro was awarded the Glitz Africa Style Influencer of the Year during the 5th edition of the Glitz Style Awards.
Yvonne Okoro also owns a company called “Desamour Company Limited” as well as other transport businesses. She made that known to Accra-based radio Peace FM.
