Ampem Darkoa Ladies qualify for third successive Women’s Premier League final

The Techiman based side proved strong for the visitors as the team’s top scorer, Mary Amponsah put her side in front in the 8th minute through a wonderful team play.

Ampem Darkoa have qualified for a third successive play off final in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League after thrashing Ashtown Ladies 5-1 to top the Northern Zone table.

Both teams has a great chance of winning the zone but it was the champions who laughed last at the end of the contest.

The Techiman based side proved strong for the visitors as the team’s top scorer, Mary Amponsah put her side in front in the 8th minute through a wonderful team play.

Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah scored a brace, whilst Mabel Amoyaw and Comfort Yeboah got their names on the score sheet to give the champions a well deserved home win and a slot for the final against Hasaacas Ladies.

At the Bantama Kokooase Park, Prisons Ladies  played as guest of Fabulous Ladies in the final match of the season.

Prisons won the triller 3-2 to condemn Fabulous Ladies to yet another defeat and passage to relegation.

Helena Obeng broke the deadlock in the 8th minute as they were the better side from the blast of the whistle. Afisatu Abubakari brought the home side level after tapping home from a cross to end the first half 1-1.

Back from the break, Both teams came with different tactics as Deborah Agyeiwaa kuruwaa put Fabulous Ladies ahead in the 46th minute but that didn’t last long as Abigail Tutuwaa leveled matters for the away team in the 55th minute.

Helena Obeng got herself on the score sheet again in additional time to secure all the points for Prisons Ladies.

In the Tamale derby, Northern Ladies annihilated Pearlpia Ladies 5:0 at the Aliu Mahama sports stadium to confirm their dominance over their city rivals.

Northern ladies have a better record between the two sides having won the first fixture 4:0 at the same venue.

Seidu Faiza scored a brace with Alhassan Fakina and Ibrahim Hawa scoring the other two goals for Northern Ladies. The result takes Pearlpia Ladies out of the top four as Northern Ladies jumped to the 3rd position.
