Another Tragic Loss: Krachi East Mourns the Sudden Demise of MCE Aborkugya

The late Aborkugya, aged 60, was nominated in May 2023 to fill the vacancy left by Francis Kofi Okesu, aged 42, who passed away under unexplained circumstances in September 2022.

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the Municipality of Krachi East in the Oti region is plunged into mourning following the untimely passing of their Municipal Chief Executive, Bernard Aborkugya Mensah.

The devastating news struck during a solemn moment, as Mr. Mensah, dedicated to his duties, was delivering a speech at the matriculation ceremony of Dambai College of Education on Friday, 05, 2024. Shock and disbelief gripped the audience as he suddenly fell unconscious, signaling the onset of an unforeseen tragedy.

Despite desperate efforts to save him, Mr. Mensah’s life slipped away while being rushed to the Worawora Government Hospital from the Dambai Health Center leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him.

A man of unwavering commitment and dedication to service, Mr. Mensah leaves behind a legacy of selfless leadership and tireless advocacy for the people of Krachi East. His passing is not only a loss to the municipality but a poignant reminder of the fragility of life.
