“Also, he has a new staff so it’s a different era. Let us see what he is for us and what I can say is that Ghanaians should support him so that he can rebuild the team. At some point, it is Ghanaians who will judge him so give him time to rebuild the team,”

Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan believes Otto Addo will succeed as the team’s head coach.

On March 15, 2024, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced Otto Addo as the new head coach of the men’s senior national team.

“Otto Addo went with the team to the 2022 Qatar World Cup and has made a return so it’s a different atmosphere and players, although has worked with some of the players before, I think it’s a process that is ongoing, he told Asempa FM.

“Also, he has a new staff so it’s a different era. Let us see what he is for us and what I can say is that Ghanaians should support him so that he can rebuild the team. At some point, it is Ghanaians who will judge him so give him time to rebuild the team,” he stressed.

Coach Otto Addo resigned from his role as the Black Stars head coach after elimination of the team from the FIFA 2022 World Cup after suffering a 2-0 loss to the La Celeste of Uruguay.

However, his come back has seen him lose to Ghana’s rivals, Nigeria and drawing to Uganda in international friendlies in March.
