Ashanti Region: NDC chairman shot dead; robbers make away with gold, cash

Police have launched a search for suspected robbers who shot and killed the NDC branch chairman for Dunkwa-Kwadadwen, Emmanuel Acquah.

The incident happened around 9:30 am on Thursday (4 May) at Ntomem on the Twapiase-Obuasi road in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region.

The victim was onboard a Toyota vehicle with registration number GW 4794-Y when he was ambushed

by the unidentified gang.

A local reporter at Dunkwa-On-Offin told dailymailgh.com that the gunmen robbed him of an unspecified amount of money and gold. Some Chinese occupants escaped unhurt.

Meanwhile, the police in the area are relying on credible information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
