Assembling and installation of trains for Tema-Mpakadan railway line completed – Peter Amewu

“Since the era of colonial railway services, no administration has made such substantial investments in revitalizing our railway sector as the Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia administrations.

Minister for Railway Development, John Peter Amewu, has announced that the assembling and installation of the train components for the Tema-Mpakadan railway line has been completed.

According to Mr. Amewu, work immediately began after the train arrived in Ghana two weeks ago.

In a post on social media on Tuesday, April 16, he stressed that electrical and mechanical testing would be conducted before the trains on the rails were put through their practical testing.

“I am happy to announce that, the assembling of these components has successfully been completed and the installation of the trains on the railway track has also been done.

“Following this progress, electrical and mechanical tests would be carried out to pave the way for the practical testing of the trains on the tracks, signalling and other relevant operational tests would be conducted soon after the engineers start navigating the train along the full length of the 100k railway line, he wrote.

He praised the NPP administration for the significant milestone reached in the railway sector and stated his party deserves another term in government to achieve its vision for the country fully.

“Since the era of colonial railway services, no administration has made such substantial investments in revitalizing our railway sector as the Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia administrations. We are steadfast in our commitment to elevate Ghana’s railway industry to a standard that is admired across the West African sub-region.

“The achievements of the Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia governments in rejuvenating Ghana’s railway sector speak for themselves and it is to reaffirm, that ‘breaking the 8’ is possible. The NPP is deserving of another term to fully fledge out its vision for this country, most importantly, the railway, transport, and broader economic sectors,” he added.
