The businessman and Kente weaver said he was availing himself to contest the District level elections as a way of contributing more to the development of the area.

An aspirant in the upcoming District Assembly elections at Tagbato Electoral Area, Godson Tome, has presented a number of gragh books to primary four and five school kids of Akaglakope Community Basic School in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta region.

In an interview after the presentation, Tome said he had always been touched by the plight of school children in his community whose parents were mostly peasant farmers who could not afford basic school supplies for their wards to assist them with their lessons.

“As a father, am always concerned about children in our community whose parents are poor peasants who sometimes find it difficult to provide them with basic learning materials,” he said.

The businessman and Kente weaver said he was availing himself to contest the District level elections as a way of contributing more to the development of the area.

The aspirant praised the Chief of the area, Torgbi Korkudjaah-Boafo Tamakloe II, for his continuous support towards the provision of quality teaching and learning in the area and expressed his readiness to follow suit.

Tome appealed to all well-meaning individuals and those well placed to “lend a helping hand” to the less fortunate in society, especially children of the poor, so that they could also access quality education to become useful adults who would contribute meaningfully to nation building.
